The USS Enterprise NCC-1701, the vessel that started the whole ball rolling in Star Trek: The Original Series.
Launched in 2245, this Constitution-Class Starfleet vessel was famously under the command of Captain James T. Kirk for his initial five-year mission (2265-2270) and served for 40 years in total until it was deliberately destroyed above the Genesis planet to keep it out of Klingon hands.
The magazine looks in depth at the design and schematics of this classic ship and follows Jefferies’ initial concepts through to the accepted and now iconic Enterprise design that provided the template for almost 50 years of Federation starships.
